Why Eclipses Happen
Every solid thing in space has a shadow. An eclipse is one body inside another's shadow — and the Moon's tilted orbit is why it's rare.
Daytime. Clear sky. And then somebody starts turning the world down — stars appear, birds head to roost, the temperature drops. The Sun is still up there… and it's gone.
